Qadir Foundation (QF) commenced its journey of public welfare in the year 1992. This was the time when there was no office, no telephone, no formal office bearers, no regular funds, no accounts and no logistic support. I being Civil Servant, was working away in different cities of Pakistan, but some volunteers from Bhakkar took this responsibility with me. The initial work comprised counselling, guidance and some other soft support to the young people. Meanwhile, the office of QF was established in the business premises of one great volunteer, Mr. Abdul Aziz, named as Aziz Brothers, Urdu Bazar Bhakkar. This was a Book Shop and all records and registers were kept here with contact line numbers of Aziz Brothers, as QF contact numbers. For about three years this non-formal type activity continued. During this period a non-formal primary school was also established in Bhakkar city on experimental basis along with other activities.

In 1995, the organization was registered as “Qadir Education and Health Society Bhakkar”. I happen to be the founder President of QF. Very soon members decided to amend the name as “Qadir Foundation Bhakkar” which was adopted and registered as such.

It is amazing that the formal welfare business of QF was started at a cash value of Rs. 2500, the total worth. I was then working as Deputy Secretary to Government of Punjab in Lahore. The journey continued and wonderful projects were taken up by QF from time to time on its own, with the help of other organizations, with Government Departments and International Agencies. QF won some of the prestigious welfare projects on competitive basis.

QF kept growing with the passage of time with the Grace of Allah, volunteer support and people of Bhakkar. Up till now thousands of male and female students and children have got education, acquired skills for jobs and others got employment in Bhakkar, outside Bhakkar and abroad, in Government, private sector and a lot many in self-employment. At present, QF is a leading welfare organization in non-profit sector and providing tremendous services to the people, details of which can be found on other pages of this website. The net worth of QF after having served and spent millions of rupees on these activities for 32 years, remains at Rs. 100 million approximately in the shape of books, equipment, school building, computer labs, skill development and health center buildings. The liquid cash assets of QF are over and above all this. May Allah give QF and its supporters the required strength to serve the people, as a lot is still to be done. The long journey still continues.

Such long and tough journeys cannot be performed in isolation or alone, rather it is team work, community support, continuous struggle, collective wisdom, organization, management and administrative excellence. I, must compliment all those who joined hands with QF from time to time, particularly Mr. Abdul Aziz, founder General Secretary, Mr. Shahid Iqbal, now President and also founder Vice President, Mr. Hasnain Bukhari, Mr. Muhammad Hanif, Rana Muhammad Jamshed, Khawja Faisal from Sargodha and many more. I also need to recognize the best services and support extended by our two members, Mr. Muhammad Anwar Khan and Malik Muhammad Anwar, who left for their eternal journey. I also need to mention the valuable services rendered by Mr. Muhammad Aslam Bhutta, Project Director, who has also left for his eternal journey. There are some government Officers of various Departments who provided continuous support all the times in pushing the objectives of QF forward. There are many more and it is not possible to mention their names individually, who participated in public welfare activities physically, financially and provided their support in one form or the other. May Allah reward them all appropriately here in this world and world after. Aameen.

My personal journey also continued with QF and I retired as Federal Secretary from Government of Pakistan. Now I work as Executive Director in a Sugar Mills Group in Lahore. With this experience, I have a firm belief that “growing welfare journey with you has direct impact on your personal growth”. My full support and commitment remains unshakeable with QF till my last minute in this world.
